Couple Get RM50,000 Home Makeover By Jayagandi Jayaraj A WEDDING anniversary and birthday gift turned out to be a surprise of a lifetime for Fatimah Tahir when she won a RM50,000 living makeover by Eric Leong in Homedec’s Design Fast Forward lucky draw concert. It began when her husband Hafiz Al-Asadi bought her a ticket for the Design Fast Forward talk, which was held in conjunction with the 8th Home Decoration exhibition. “It was a talk where Eric was revealing designs, decors, colours trends and ideas for 2008. “My husband bought me the ticket to pick up ideas for our new home but little did I know that by the end of talk I would win the lucky draw. “Now I don’t only get my ideas for my home but also get a free makeover by Eric himself. We are very excited,” she said at the prize giving ceremony held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on Nov 22. Lucky: Fatimah and Hafiz with the mock prize. A total of 8,021 forms were received for the contest and participants were required to select their favourite designs of the three thematic windows displayed to the least favourite. Bagus Curtain was the main sponsor for the contest and a grand prize with a combination of cash worth RM10,000 and curtain products worth RM15,000 were given away to winner Loo Wee Tze. In total, prizes worth RM50,000 were given away. The next Homedec is scheduled for April 4 - 6 at PISA, Penang, May 1-4 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and Aug 29-31 at Persada, Johor.
